I am a Medway and Kent-based artist with a ‘Nucleus’ studio located in the historic town of Rochester. I predominately use the medium of oil paint to explore the duality between permanence and transience in our world. In my last project, I focussed upon capturing ephemeral moments within local landscapes. However, in my current project, I have begun to introduce elements of still life and portraiture as well - incorporating charity shop finds and clothing into my paintings, further reflecting upon the transient and enduring aspects of the world around us.
Above are recent photos from my studio ‘mind map’ which is regularly updated. Within this ‘working wall’ space, I include a mixture of selected completed works, works in progress, various objects, and metaphorical recordings of ‘fleeting’ daily observations - all that inspire the generation of new work.
